About Me

Renee Sanguinetti

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

I approach therapy from a whole-person, transpersonal, and holistic perspective. That is, I will work to help you integrate, balance, and align your whole self — body, mind, and spirit. I will encourage you to live from your highest self, which is wise and compassionate. The foundation of my work includes Brainspotting-Focused Mindfulness (BSP) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). These methods utilize mindfulness, somatic awareness, experiential practices, imagery, symbols, archetypes, creative expression, dream work, and distance healing (Reiki, if you are so inclined) to bring depth and insight to the work. I will also invite you to consider bringing ritual and ceremony into your process of healing.

I am certified in Brainspotting from David Grand, PhD, and have completed training in phases 1, 2, 3, and 4, as well as Expansion BSP. I facilitate a peer brain-spotting consultation group and receive ongoing consultation and training.

I also trained with Behavioral Tech, LLC, in DBT and became a DBT-certified clinician by the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification and
co-founded and ran a DBT center for 10 years.
I have since branched off to focus more exclusively in helping people live a "life worth living" and heal trauma to awaken to their truest selves.

My graduate degree and Certificate in Creative Expression are from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia Institute). I am a Reiki practitioner from the Usui Lineage, a student of Intentional Creativity, and I am a shamanic practitioner representing multicultural indigenous healing practices. I also facilitate a dream group based on the group work of professor and author Jeremy Taylor and author and dream-worker Toko-pa Turner, and follow guidance from Turner.

Transpersonal is the extension of psychological studies into consciousness studies, spiritual inquiry, body/mind relationships, and transformation.

I am a professional member of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapy (CAMFT) and the Oregon Counseling Association (ORCA), and a member of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD).

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, [only] then can I change.
